The 2025/26 Biathlon World Cup begins with a long competition stretch in Sweden’s Östersund on Saturday. The more than week-long World Cup opener from 29 November to 7 December includes relays, mixed relays, individual races, sprint races and pursuits.

Partly overlapping with the Östersund World Cup, the IBU Cup competitions in Obertilliach will be held on 4–7 December 2025.

Sweden named six men and five women for the Östersund World Cup. The men competing in Östersund are Jesper Nelin, Malte Stefansson, Martin Ponsiluoma, Melker Nordgren, Sebastian Samuelsson and Viktor Brandt. The women selected are Anna Magnusson, Ella Halvarsson, Elvira Öberg, Hanna Öberg and Linn Gestblom.

In addition to the five women listed above, one athlete from the trio Anna-Karin Heijdenberg / Johanna Skottheim / Sara Andersson will compete in Östersund and one in Obertilliach. The final decision will be made during the early part of the Östersund competitions.
