Sweden announced on Monday its team for the Biathlon World Cup opener in Östersund and for the IBU Cup opener in Obertilliach.
The 2025/26 Biathlon World Cup begins with a long competition stretch in Sweden’s
Östersund on Saturday. The more than week-long World Cup opener from 29 November to 7 December includes relays, mixed relays, individual races, sprint races and pursuits.
Partly overlapping with the Östersund World Cup, the
IBU Cup competitions in Obertilliach will be held on 4–7 December 2025.
Sweden named six men and five women for the Östersund World Cup. The men competing in Östersund are
Jesper Nelin, Malte Stefansson, Martin Ponsiluoma, Melker Nordgren, Sebastian Samuelsson and
Viktor Brandt. The women selected are
Anna Magnusson, Ella Halvarsson, Elvira Öberg, Hanna Öberg and
Linn Gestblom.
In addition to the five women listed above, one athlete from the trio

Johanna Skottheim /
Sara Andersson will compete in Östersund and one in Obertilliach. The final decision will be made during the early part of the Östersund competitions.
