Here is how the prize money is divided in the Wanda Diamond League 2023 one-day meetings and the two-day final in Eugene.
The prize money in the Wanda Diamond League season 2023 remains as it was in the preceding season 2022.
In the one-day qualification meetings the prize pool per discipline is 30,000 dollars. Eight best athletes in each discipline of all one-day meetings are rewarded with a cash prize. $10,000 goes to the meeting winner of each Diamond League discipline. The runner-up is awarded with $6,000 and the athlete who finishes third gets $3,500.
In the two-day Diamond League final in Eugene in September a prize pool of 70 000 dollars in each discipline is provided to the athletes. The winner takes half of the pot ($30,000) and the other half is distributed among the other seven finalists. In addition to the $30,000 prize money each champion is awarded a prestigious "Diamond Trophy" and a wild card for the
World Athletics Championships.
