Julien Alfred is unstoppable – World-leading 21,91 in 200m

Saint Lucia´s Julien Alfred ran time of 21.91 (+1.8) in the 200 meters in Florida on Friday.

Alfred's time is currently the world's leading mark and her new outdoor record by over half a second. Last season, her time would have ranked fourth in the world toplists.

At just 21 years old and a student at the University of Texas, Alfred has achieved outstanding results this indoor season, including running 60 meters in 6.94 and 200 meters in 22.01 at high altitude in Albuquerque. In spring 2022, Alfred also recorded a time of 10.81 in the 100 meters.

As a university student, her competition season is focused on the intense schedule of winter and spring races, and she has not been seen much on the summer competition circuit. However, it is clear that she is an exceptionally talented athlete who will shake up the sprinting world in the coming years on the international stage.
