Lausanne's Diamond League disciplines in 2026 will feature the women's 800m, meaning that recently crowned European Champion Audrey Werro will get to attempt to break Jarmila Kratochvílová’s world record of 1:53,28 on home soil.
Another intrigue is the men's pole vault which takes place a day earlier on Thursday the 20th of August in a special city event. Armand Duplantis will take to the streets with a world record on his mind, and the event will be completely free for an excited Swiss crowd.
