The final match of the qualifiers for the Snooker World Championship became a proper barnburner, as Englishman
Gary Wilson defeated
Xu Si of China 10-9.
Xu found himself first 2-7 and then 4-8 down, but showed great heart to take five consecutive frames and a 9-8 lead. Wilson bent but didn't break, taking the final two frames and the final qualifier spot for the Crucible.
The final frame of the match was a memorable one, with Wilson making a fantastic break of 126. In the post-match interview Wilson said that playing felt hard, but that he's happy with the victory.
- At the end I was only thinking that this is the biggest tournament we have. If you don't give it your all now, when do you do, Wilson commented.
Wilson is the final player to make the World Championship proper. The
