In the Cross-Country Skiing World Cup, a total of four million euros in prize money will be distributed during the 2025/26 season. See how the prize money is divided.
In each
cross-country World Cup race of the 2025–2026 season, prize money will be awarded to the top twenty skiers, as in previous years. Starting this season, all prizes will be paid in euros — previously, the payments were made in Swiss francs.
The prize money increases numerically for places 2–20, but since, at the time of writing, the Swiss franc is about 7% stronger than the euro, part of that increase is offset by the currency change. The winner of each individual race will receive €15,000, the same nominal amount as last season in francs (about €16,000).
In the regular World Cup competitions, a total of just over 2.8 million euros in prize money will be distributed during the 2025/26 season. When
Tour de Ski prize money of a total of 774,000 euros is added, along with 444,000 euros distributed among the top 20 men and women in the overall World Cup standings, the total prize pool for the 2025/26 World Cup and Tour de Ski amounts to around four million euros.
This sum includes both men’s and women’s prize money, which are equal.
Prize money in individual events in the cross-country skiing World Cup 2025-2026
In an individual World Cup race, a total of 64,550 Euros in prize money is distributed. In relays and team sprints, the total prize money per event is 51,640 francs.
Prizes are paid in Euros as follows: the race winner receives 15,000 €, second place 11,000 €, third place 7,000 €, and the amounts decrease step by step, with the 20th place still earning 500 €.
In relays and team sprints, the top ten teams are awarded prize money. The winning team receives 16,000 € to share, the runner-up 11,000 €, and even the sixth team earns 3,000 €.
All prize amounts are the same for men and women.
