Snooker WC: Revenge is sweet for Robertson, see all the quarter-final pairings

When the draw for the Snooker World Championship was announced, Neil Robertson was surely looking for one particular name. Chris Wakelin handed the Aussie an embarrassing 1. round exit this time last year, but now "The Thunder from down under" had a chance to take his revenge in their 2nd round clash.

Things started out tight, with the scores balanced at 7-6 before the Australian went full throttle to finish the second session in a commanding 10-6 lead. All the other 2nd round match-ups of the day had been close contests, but this time out Robertson had a point to prove.

The only Triple Crown winner from outside of the UK was at his flamboyant best, finishing affairs up quickly in the final session to take a 13-7 win. The Aussie hasn't reached the semi-finals in Sheffield for 12 years, and was excited about the prospect when speaking about his match against John Higgins in the quarter-finals.

- I have to stay aggressive against John and play on my own terms, while still not going overly reckless. He usually brings out the best in me, Neil told WST after the match.

- Today's match was pleasant. We share similar styles with Chris, trying to stay on the front foot at all times. I wanted to finish things up before the break to get some extra rest, the Australian finished.

All the quarter-final pairings have now been confirmed, and the bracket as a whole looks as follows:

The quarterfinals of the Snooker World Championship start at 10:00 ja 14:30 BST on Tuesday. The matches will take place over two days, with 13 frames needed to clinch a spot in the semi-finals.
