Finland’s team for the Ruka World Cup named – See the selected athletes


The Cross-Country Skiing and Nordic Combined World Cups will begin next weekend in Ruka. The program in Ruka also includes the third men’s Ski Jumping World Cup competitions of the season.

Jasmi Joensuu aims for top spots in the Ruka World Cup sprint competition.


The Cross-Country Skiing World Cup will kick off as usual in Ruka on 28–30 November 2025. The three-day event includes 10 km classic interval starts on Friday, classic sprints on Saturday, and 20 km freestyle mass starts on Sunday.

The Nordic Combined World Cup will also start for the men in Ruka. The program features three individual competitions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Two men’s Ski Jumping World Cup competitions will also be held in Ruka. The large hill competitions are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The Ski Jumping World Cup already began for both men and women last weekend in Lillehammer, Norway. Before arriving in Ruka, the men will jump two more World Cup competitions on Tuesday and Wednesday in Falun, Sweden. Women will jump in Falun this coming weekend.



Finland’s team for the Ruka World Cup


Finland’s team selections for Ruka contain no major surprises. The cross-country squad includes experienced veterans the likes of Iivo and Kerttu Niskanen and Krista Pärmäkoski. The team also has young talents such as Leevi Tarjanne, who impressed at the Olos Tykkikisat, and Veeti Pyykkö and Selene Rossi, who stood out in the mass starts at the Ruka Finnish Cup.

As the host nation, Finland was allowed to name up to 12 skiers for each cross-country race in Ruka.
