Falun premiers as a ski jumping World Cup host in the end of November 2025. Falun will host the World Ski Championships in 2027 and the World Cup is part of the preparations for the World Champs.
Falun in Sweden, is a traditional host of
XC skiing events, but in the
Ski Jumping World Cup it has been a rare sight in Falun over the past 20 years. The last time a World Cup ski jumping competition was held in Falun was in 2014, and before that in 2002.
Now, however, there is a clear reason for its return to the World Cup, as the Lugnet sports center in Falun is already preparing for the
2027 Nordic Ski World Championships. The World Championships in cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, and ski jumping will take place in Falun from February 24 to March 7, 2027.
Falun’s hill record is 135.5 meters, held by Germany’s Severin Freund (February 26, 2015). The normal hill record is 105.0 meters, set by Slovenia’s Primož Peterka (March 13, 1996).
