The snooker UK Championship 2026 takes places in the fabled Barbican Centre in York, England between the 28th of November and the 6th of December. The qualifying rounds take place in Leicester between the 21.-26. of November.
The tournament is one of the most respected events of the year, and is one of the so called Triple Crown -tournaments. The UK Championship is always played out between the end of November and the start of December. The other Triple Crown -tournaments are of course the
World Snooker Championship and The Masters.
The first UK Championship took place as far back as 1977. The tournament received ranking status in 1984, and since then it's been a staple highlight of the snooker year.
The 16 best players in the world rankings get to enter the main series (top 32) automatically, while the rest of the players have to start their journey via the qualifiers.
